MIXED EMOTIONS - Randall Smith has left Mesa/Boogie
I have been a fan of Randall Smith since the late 1970's. He sold out his company (Mesa Boogie) to the Gibson Family of Brands back in 2021and today, 8/20/24 it was confirmed that he has left the company.
I currently own four Rectifier heads and several others including a 1988 cream colored S.O.B.
I hope that the company will continue to produce quality, Made in America products but I'm doubtful based on everything they've done since Gibson emerged from bankruptcy. I expect they'll make some Extremely-Expensive US products in California and move the rest of production to Asia.
I'm keeping my current Boogie amps and will watch as the story unfolds.
