Dirk Ulrich and his Rockforce Tech Holding Company have acquired Apogee Electronics located in Santa Monica, California. This is the same investment entity that recently acquired Manley Laboratories.
On November 14, 2025, Rockforce Tech Holding became the owner of Apogee Electronics.
Frankly the handwriting has been on the wall for quite some time, Apogee has become tired. Their retail technology struggles to find valid differentiating relevance with buyers, amid endless lower priced alternatives which are perceived by many users to be equals.
My last Apogee Interface was their top of the line Symphony II Thunderbolt-2 model. Nothing about it felt state of the art. The software was cumbersome, the touchscreen felt unnecessary and there was no upgrade path to newer Thunderbolt technology (quietly they have announced a user installable upgrade to Thunderbolt-3 USB-C style connector).
High on Technology wishes the new owners all the best. Please keep great hardware alive and stop trying to be a software company making plugins nobody really needs.
