20. Presonus Eris 3.5 Powered Monitors, the quest for good sounding speakers goes on.
19. AudioScape V-Comp+ Deluxe Edition, these handmade tube gadgets built here in Florida are great.
18. Midas L-10 500-Series 10 slot chassis, we solved the mythical hum issues, this rack rules for bargain price, inbuilt power supply and quiet performance.
17. Marshall DSL-1, this 1-watt tube amp still has legs and great tone.
16. Behringer Pro VS mini Synthesizer, tiny instrument, tiny price, huge sound and lots of features
15. Presonus Eris Sub 8 Compact Studio Subwoofer, I listen to this sub everyday in my Studio B, it’s the low end rumble and I love when it speaks.
14. Sonicake Levitate, an impressive little Reverb and Echo combination in a useable pedal configuration with an extraordinary low price.
13. Warm Audio WA-MPX, I underestimated this box, it’s become a favorite tone machine for me, BIG fat tone with a Clean that leans FAT and Distortion effects on tap which are a blast to record and shape sound with.
12. Behringer System 15 Eurorack Modular Synthesizer, if you’re looking for a bargain place to start your Eurorack dive this one is hard to beat, comes with plenty of modules and plenty of empty slots for expansion.
11. Warm Audio EQP vs Klark Teknik EQP, review and shoot out. I don’t use either on my Mix Bus but as EQ for stabbing in and fixing fizzy electric guitar, anemic bass tracks, thin synthesizer recordings, I’ve come to appreciate both models.
10. Marshall MG15R Guitar Amplifier, it’s inexpensive, it’s solid state, it’s got spring reverb and the Marshall logo. More importantly it’s got a nice clean sound, is instantly ready to jam, the reverb is a fun touch and at the touch of a button, Marshall distortion on tap for lead practice.
9. Marshall 20 Watt Origin Guitar Amplifier, this one is a two-for-one, you get both the Origin Head and the combo. Lately the head version plugged into a Marshall Vintage-style 4x12 loaded with G12 Celestion speakers is my favorite amp setup here in the High on Technology studio.
8. JBL 308P and 305P III Series MK II Powered Speakers, it’s a very annoying model name to type but these compact monitors are still a favorite choice here. The 5” with a sub is quite impressive, punchy.
7. Leslie 147, The Magic Rotating Speaker System, this review has been a top performer ever since it hit the High on Technology blog and it looks like interest is still high.
6. Behringer LM DRUM, drum machine. People want to know if this machine sounds like the original and can they write songs that sound like the 1980s. YES you can
5. Shure SM7B FAKE MIC article. I bought a fake from eBay that looks so close to the real thing it was hard to tell until I plugged it in. How bad can it be? REALLY BAD. Don’t get duped by a cheap price.
4. Warm Audio WA-47 and WA-47jr compared. Tracks recorded with the WA-47 impress Golden Ears all the time, you can spend more but is it worth it? The 47jr is also a good sounding microphone for a cheap price.
3. Behringer 73 500 Series module. People just can’t get enough of that Neve 1073 sound, it’s like they’re born wondering and the first number they learn is 1073. Here it is, for cheap!
2. Neve 1073spx compared to Warm Audio WA-73EQ. With their EQ sections bypassed these two preamps are almost indistinguishable from each other but one costs a lot more.
1. Behringer 1273 compared to Neve 1073spx compared to Warm Audio WA-73. The challengers vs. the World Champion 1073. Does the Behringer sound good or does the Neve leave it in the dirt. How do they compare to the Warm Audio WA-73. This article was hit more than three-times as many times as the the number 2. The 1273 is packing some surprises, we show you those, we go inside the box to look at how it’s built and we explore the tone (aka does it get the 73 sound?).
