I have a lot of pedals and I like playing in my barefeet when I’m in the studio. Typical stompbox footswitches can be hard to push and mean to your feet.
Barefoot Buttons™ makes solid metal footswitch toppers which block viewing the LEDs on stompboxes from many angles. The other problem is the price, Barefoot Buttons™ are almost $10 EACH. I refuse to pay $10 per button because it would literally cost me over $1,000 to outfit all my footswitches with Barefoot Buttons™.

I found a much lower cost metal footswitch topper which quickly helped me understand how solid cast aluminum buttons block your ability to see the status LEDs on many stompboxes. I also found a low cost plastic footswitch topper but it suffers the same visibility problem as the metal models, you can’t see the LED through the big opaque buttonhead.

The clever designers at Mooer have come up with a beautiful solution that works great and its priced very fairly. Mooer makes a lot of gadgets with footswitches so perhaps they have a special insight as a result because they’re the first I’ve seen to make transparent Footswitch Toppers. These little clear plastic flying saucers simply push-on to your footswitches, no wrench or fancy installation required. A bag of 10 pieces cost under $10. I bought three bags for initial testing. After confirming how great they are I quickly ordered four more bags. I’ve slowly been replacing all my metal button toppers with these clear plastic models. My feet are happy and my eyes are too.

These Mooer Footswitch Toppers are rounded and very friendly to the bottom of shoeless-feet. I’ve had no problems with the plastic toppers coming off. It is a joy to be able to see LED lights through the footswitch toppers, no more stretching in odd ways to see if lights are ON.

The Mooer Footswitch Toppers are almost invisible thanks to the crystal clear plastic they are made from. When the LED illuminates near the Mooer Footswitch Topper it makes the whole plastic piece glow with the color of the source light below. The size of these footswitch toppers makes it easier to hit a footswitch due to the increased size of the target.
The Mooer footswitch topper doesn’t fit a few obscure pedals I own, so I just use those pedals stock.

I love simple, cost effective solutions and these clear footswitch caps are a brilliant example. They improve and make playing easier in several ways and that makes them a great accessory that deserves your purchase dollars.
