WHAT DOES IT DO? . . . . SIX IN, ONE OUT
This is a passive box, no AC power is required. This switching product is used to select between six sources of balanced stereo audio and route your selection to a single stereo pair of output connectors.
HARDWARE CONSTRUCTION
The selector switches are the typical style used by Coleman on a number of his products. These switches are pressed, one at a time, to select from the six input positions. You're not required to use all six inputs, currently I'm only using two inputs which are from my two stereo master recorders, the Coleman MS6 lets me select which of the recorders feeds the 2-track return on my console. I'm planning to add a smartphone audio hardwire input for cueing test mixes from phones and a Bluetooth Audio input receiver for wireless stereo input.
The one-rack space enclosure is steel, all the jacks on the rear are premium Neutrik connectors. Steel construction helps minimize induced outside electrical interference.

PASSIVE CONSTRUCTION MEANS DC TO DAYLIGHT FREQUENCY RESPONSE
Passive design and construction means there are no frequency response altering capacitors or semiconductors in the signal path. What you put in is what comes out. The selector switches make a loud "click chunk" when you make a selection, these switches were chosen for high-reliability and their ability to pass premium quality audio without distortion.
EPILOGUE
Coleman Audio products are not inexpensive but premium professional quality is never cheap. If your workflow requires selecting between outputs from multiple stereo sources you can depend on the Coleman Audio MS6 to deliver the finest audio performance.
