Rick Derringer quietly left us on May 26, 2025. I saw him performing at the King Center a few years ago, he was still tearing up the guitar finger board. During that show he played the Edgar Winter classic "Frankenstein" completely on the guitar, including ALL the synthesizer parts. Music stardom has taken so many at young ages, he was only 77 years old. You rock on forever Rick!
I have a lot of happy memories sitting around with my brother back in the 70's listening to "Still Alive and Well" the album Rick produced for Johnny Winter. Getting old is weird, it's THE REAL Time Machine, we keep going forward towards something.
I'm going to get on Apple Music and listen to all my old favorites while savoring a fine cup of coffee just for you Rick!
